Our task was to visually unite a compelling side profile image with typography that is both disintegrating and blending with sickled red blood cells in an elegant way. The idea is that there is always damage going on behind the scenes in sickle cell disease.
Sickled red blood cells promote inflammation, obstruct the vasculature, injure the endothelium, and may lead to ischemic damage in vital organs.
SIckle cell disease (SCD) is one of the most common inherited diseases worldwide.
